First the gun situation, then “she can just leave so it’s not abuse”. It was an incredibly off-base and harmful thing to say, and Jordana was so focused on her own insecurities she missed how insanely out of line and Taliban-esque it is to shame a woman for basically who she is, police a woman’s clothing, and ask her not to interact with men when she is at work, no matter how it’s worded. It is cruel and manipulative, especially when it comes from someone you love and have already grown attached to. Female surfers live in a literal sea of toxic masculinity, so sometimes their own barometer for what is normal is off, among other issues. I understand you have no professional or personal knowledge in this area, so please just steer clear and stick to what you know, which we love!
